Steve Burns (“Steve”/Writer, he/him) is best known as the original host of Nick Juniors Blue’s Clues. As a musician, he has written an album of music for children called Foreverywhere (with Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips) and composed the theme song to Young Sheldon on CBS. He has been a frequent host and storyteller for The Moth, as well as beacons own The Artichoke. He is thrilled to be working with longtime friend and collaborator Matt Freeman, and to be performing once again at the Howland Cultural Center.
Matthew Freeman (Director/Writer, he/him) is a New Dramatists alum, where he proudly received the Joe A. Callaway Award, and a MacDowell Colony Fellow. He was awarded the 2021 Kesselring Prize by the National Arts Club. His plays and monologues have been published by Concord Theatricals, Applause, Smith & Kraus, and Playscripts. Plays include Silver Spring (2021 Kesselring Prize), That Which Isn't, Steve Burns Alive (co-writer), Bluebeard, When is a Clock, The Listeners (Nominee: Best Production - Performance Art: New York Innovative Theatre Awards 2015), Why We Left Brooklyn, The Most Wonderful Love, Glee Club, The Death of King Arthur, and Brandywine Distillery Fire. His audio pieces have been a part of the HearNow Festival, New Dramatists Active Listening, Atlanta Fringe Radio. Freeman is a graduate of Emerson College. He divides his time between the Western Catskills and Brooklyn with his wife, the magical author Pam Grossman. Freeman is the Producing Artistic Director of Theater Accident.
Chloé Hayat (Associate Producer, she/her) is a playwright, dramaturg, and producer from Roosevelt Island, New York. Her work has been seen and developed as a part of Noor Theatre, Playwright’s Horizons, Clubbed Thumb’s Early Career Writer’s Group, Space on Ryder Farm, The Flea, and Young Playwrights Inc. She currently serves as the curator for the Hit and Run Reading Series with Theatre Accident and the Administrative Director of the SWANA Writers’ Co-Op at New York Theatre Workshop. In STEVE BURNS ALIVE, Burns explores how rumors of his death gave him a new perspective on life; and comes to terms with being known as "Steve" from the popular children's television show Blue's Clues. This funny and heartfelt monologue is intended for adults.
Greg Lakhan (Lighting and Audio Operations, they/he) is a Multimedia Production Specialist born and raised in Queens, NY. After graduating from SUNY Purchase College with a BA in Theater Performance and Playwriting/Screenwriting, he has produced several independent films, plays, and hip hop albums (as Sir Gregolas). They currently work as the Office Manager of The Tank Theater in New York, NY and an active Ensemble Member of the New York Neo Futurists, an experimental theater collective in the West Village.
